2. Testing Is Done in Front of You
Every test — XRF scanning, acid testing (if used), weighing on the digital scale — is performed at the counter with you watching. You should be able to see the purity percentage displayed on the testing machine's screen in real time.
3. They Are a Registered Business

4. They Provide a Written Receipt
Every legitimate transaction should come with a receipt showing: your name, the item description, weight, karat purity, rate per gram, and total amount paid. If a buyer refuses to provide a receipt, walk away.
5. They Have Genuine Customer Reviews
Check their Google Business Profile for real reviews. Look for consistent 4–5 star ratings with specific mentions of "transparent testing", "good price for 22K", or "paid on the spot". Fake reviews tend to be generic; real reviews are specific.
Red Flags — Warning Signs to Watch For
- Testing your gold in a back room away from your sight
- Pressuring you to decide immediately or claiming prices will drop
- Asking to melt your gold before giving you a price
- No physical address or operating from a temporary stall
- Offering significantly below the market rate without explanation
- No receipt offered for the transaction
